Basic Blue Release Party!

Rocketnoodle Music in conjunction with The Great Black Music Project is pleased to announce a free concert by Chicago-based Blues-Rocker Vince Agwada celebrating the release of his much anticipated sophomore effort entitled, "BASIC BLUE" (RNMCD00002) BASIC BLUE is the follow up to his first official album, the critically acclaimed "Eyes of the City", which earned the #2 spot on the Illinois Entertainer's "Best of 2008" list.

This one of a kind performance will feature Vince Agwada performing "Basic Blue" in its entirety followed by a "Super Jam" featuring many of the players from the project as well as a number of special guests. This promises to be one of the year's most exciting shows.

This event will take place on Thursday, September 29 at 7 p.m. at the Donald H. Smith Theater at Northeastern Illinois University 700 E. Oakwood Blvd. Chicago IL, 60653. Call the Great Black Music Project at 773.268.7505 for more information.

BASIC BLUE consists of twelve original songs. All selections were written produced and arranged by Vince Agwada. BASIC BLUE was recorded at Transient Sound, Chicago. The album was mixed by Jon Ervie at Jupiter Studios Seattle, WA.

Vince has been hard at work since March of 2010 putting together what promises to be his best work yet. This 12-song extravaganza of all originals includes a who's who lineup of Chi-Town talent and includes guest appearances from Sugar Blue, Larry McCray and Bill "The Buddha" Dickens. Look for it in stores early summer 2011.

Lioness Film ScoreLioness of Lisabi

Originally commissioned to contribute one song to the film, producers of the independent film "Lioness of Lisabi" were so blown away by Vince's original submission "Heart of a Lioness" that they've asked him to contribute two more pieces. The short film, shot in Barbados, and loosely based on the life of the mother of Nigerian superstar Fela Kuti is in post-production and should hit theaters and festivals by the fall. CBE Album Project

Chicago Blues Experience co-founders Vince Agwada and Russ Green are currently writing and rehearsing new material for an album scheduled for release this fall. Vince is producing and there is label interest already. Stay tuned for more info...
